Hotels Whitley Bay

York House Hotel

106-110 Park Ave, Whitley Bay NE26 1DN, UK – 0191 252 8313

An absolute gem of a hotel. Very friendly & helpful staff. The rooms are spotless with nice touch of a fridge, microwave & tea & coffee provided. The breakfast is second to none with everything you could possibly wish for provided & all cooked freshly to order. Fully recommended.

I would definitely recommend this hotel lovely room spotlessly clean friendly staff breakfast really good thank you

The Park Hotel

Grand Parade, Tynemouth, North Shields NE30 4JQ, UK – 0191 257 1406

This will be very nice when they have finished the renovations. Rooms are reasonably appointed but have single glazed sash windows that are seized with paint. Price was well placed though and the bed was comfy enough all be it a little thread bare. Breakfast was basic and not the best quality but OK for the price. The coffee was also a bit insipid.

My husband and I have stayed in many hotels, but the staff here are the friendliest and most accommodating that we have ever dealt with. The renovated rooms are very nice and the beds comfortable. Great shower and loads of hot water. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. The hotel is undergoing renovations at the moment, but I have no doubt that it will be stunning when completed. It is in a great location, sitting between Tynemouth and Whitley Bay. Great views of the ocean and beach. Will definitely stay here again.

Windsor Hotel

43 S Parade, Whitley Bay NE26 2RF, UK – 0191 251 8888

Love the view and only a short walk away from the metro, which will lead you straight into Newcastle. The rooms were really nice and the breakgast was tasty. 👌👌👍

Decor shabby, place run down with dust present. Staff friendly but food and beverage staff not trained in gluten free - I was offered two options off menu both containing gluten. I opted for salad which came with croutons... Over priced for what you get Im afraid.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Wheatsheaf Inn

New York Rd, North Shields NE29 8EH, UK – 0191 257 9307

Went yesterday for Sunday lunch - was a hot day so didn't fancy slaving over a hot stove! The 5* are for the delicious food - hubby had roast beef & I roast pork - both beautifully tender. Veg was also perfectly cooked and served separately - even the gravy (something I'm very particular about) was one of the best I've tasted in a long time. Hubby really enjoyed his pint and I my glass of merlot. Plenty of free parking spaces. Lots of outside seating. The surroundings need a little attention. Outside beautifully decorated but parts of the inside need painting/repairing. Not the cheapest for a Sunday lunch but the food was well worth it. Will definitely be visiting again.

great pub with a friendly welcome haven't tried the food yet but intend to as it has been recommended by lots of people I've talked to.this pub is also dog friendly so is a great place to stop off when out with your dog.

The Sandpiper

Farringdon Rd, North Shields, Cullercoats NE30 3ER, UK – 0191 253 5050

We went for a birthday get together, it was 6.30pm they had run out of homemade pie so a couple if us got the curry. When it came it was presented fab, but we both had to leave it it was quite thick and dry. Other than these 2 meals the starters and puddings were fine.

Went for sunday dinner lovely meal. Bar sevice was class girls were lovely. Beer garden was so relaxing to have a drink.

Cara Guesthouse

9 The Links, Whitley Bay NE26 1PS, UK – 0191 253 0172

Excellent value for what you get. Clean rooms with basic facilities. Cooked breakfast. No en-suite but the shower and toilet rooms were fine. All for less money than what you'd pay in some hostels. Sea views from some rooms. On-street parking available. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to beach and local cafes, bars and local attractions including the playhouse.

The owner and (I think she was) general manager are lovely and couldn't do more to help however I feel that the rooms required a bit of work. The first room I was in had a socket hanging off the wall and toenail clippings on the floor. I was moved and the second single room I was in smelled really badly of damp, very unfortunate as from what I could see the rest of the guest house was lovely. I also need to mention that although the first room had a damaged socket, there was a electrician out the next morning to fix it so was sorted very quickly. My parents were in a double room which was lovely - I think it may just be a problem with single rooms. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful.

Whitley Bay Campsites and Caravan Parks

The Caravan Club

Seaton Sluice, Whitley Bay NE26 4RL, UK – 0843 504 8772

Nice site with great views in one of the most scenic seasides in England. Staff friendly and helpful, toilet block clean but looking tatty. Don’t like the idea of being able to drive on the grass between pitches but there’s really no other way of positioning your van or motor home on the pitch.

One of the best sites in the network. Great views. Good facilities. A shame it's small and no awnings allowed.

Whitley Bay Holiday Park

The Links, Whitley Bay NE26 4RR, UK – 0330 123 4968

I loved this holiday!! My first ever holiday at Whitley Bay ever! Everything about the park was perfect, friendly and welcoming. Me and my partner really enjoyed the entertainment on the low season (Monday to thursday) before the high season started (Friday onwards). Wacky Wes and Naughty Nick made the entertainment very enjoy able and made you very welcome! You made up my entire holiday! Don't ever change what you do, we loved having the banter and the laughs with you guys! Loved everything about you guys We will definitely be coming back here again, for another perfect holiday!!

Arrived back from a 3 day break, the park & caravan was lovely, very clean & tidy. The staff on site was great, really friendly. Whitley Bay was lovely, although not much to do if staying longer than the 3 days. We was surprised how inexpensive it was, we didn't find food/drinks too over priced. Would recommend trip to the lighthouse whilst there.
